3mm thick foam PVC screen to suit a Technosetbee vented floor to block the air vents if required. 405mm x 365mm.
This type of material floats nicely on water and can also be used as flotation devices for beehive water feeders. It is recommended to punch or drill some 8mm diameter holes for better access to the water for the bees.

Important: Research from clients in the USA states that four strips are more effective than using a single pad with the same surface area. Having 260% more edge line significantly improves efficacy.
Packed 4000 per carton, 80,000 per pallet.
Directions:
Prepare a solution comprising 50% Oxalic Acid Dihydrate and 50% food-grade glycerine by weight. See detailed instructions and videos in the mixing guide. Beequip Cardboard strips are soaked in a solution of 40% Oxalic Acid, whereas Swedish Cloth strips use a 50% solution. Note that a 50% OA/Glycerine solution takes slightly longer to dissolve and mix properly.
While the solution is around 54–58°C, soak each strip with approximately 25 grams of solution. Place the strips on their edges in a flat-bottomed soak bin, ideally in a warm place (20–30°C). Strips absorb the solution fully within 60 minutes. Allow the bin to stay in a warm place for 24 hours to equalise the solution distribution. When cooled to room temperature, the solution will solidify within each strip.
The strips can then be used immediately or packed into airtight ziplock bags for long-term storage.
A typical strong colony with two brood boxes should have four strips placed horizontally between the brood boxes, leaving spaces between the strips.
Scrape off burr comb first.
The four strips work more effectively than using a single larger pad.
Reports from the USA indicate that this system is extremely effective when placed horizontally between the brood boxes in double brood box hives. However, it is less successful over single brood box colonies.
Randy Oliver (scientificbeekeeping.com) agrees with this observation, advising that OAE strips be fitted vertically over the frames when used in single brood box colonies, similar to our cardboard strips. See Beequip Cardboard Strips for reference.
Fun fact: Bees maintain an environment in the brood nest that is ideal for the cloth’s effectiveness, maintaining a temperature near 34°C and humidity between 58%–70%. This controlled environment is absent above a single brood box colony.
Strip Life: The lifespan of strips depends on bee activity such as propolis coating and chewing. Replace strips every 8–12 weeks, or every 10 weeks in cases of significant mite re-invasion, particularly during Autumn.

Q8 Precut Plastic Foundation

Pre-cut plastic foundation to suit eight trifold frames from the Q8 Queen Mating Nuc.
For maximum strength and longevity.
These are sold as a set of 24 panels and are cut to suit the individual frame shapes. Eight of the panels have one corner cut off and are for the middle section of the frames. Stainless steel screws will come with the Q8 to attach the plastic foundation to the frames.
Fitting Instructions
To attach the plastic foundation to the frames, it is recommended to have a battery drill with torque settings, a No.1 square driver bit and a wood packer block that is approx. 190mm x 90mm x 20mm thick. Fit one panel at a time. Place the foundation panel against the frame face that doesn't have the 2 protrusions at the top. Then turn upside down and place over top of the wooden packer block and fit 4 screws through the 4 exposed screw holes in the frame. Use the battery drill to turn the self-tapping screw fast enough to cut a thread into the plastic foundation panel. Set the drill to the lowest torque setting and ensure the 4 screws are not overtightened. If they are overtightened they can distort the plastic foundation so it doesn't sit flat or it can strip the thread. The same procedure can be accomplished with a hand screwdriver if a battery drill is not available. See photo showing a frame with 3 panels of plastic foundation fitted correctly. The bees will soon cover the sharp screws with wax and fill in any small gap on the sides of the plastic foundation panels.
It is highly recommended to apply a thin layer of molten beeswax to the plastic foundation to encourage the bees to draw it out quicker. A slow cooker (as shown in the photo) is ideal to heat the wax safely to 80 degrees Celsius. Use two 75mm paint brushes with unpainted wooden handles to apply the wax. Use one brush till wax is used up or too cool then swap over to use the other brush so there is no down-time. The wax only needs to coat the tops of the plastic cells. It doesn't have to cover the bottoms of the cells. It is a good idea to be generous with the wax and coat the edge of the plastic frame as well.

Keen to set yourself up with everything to make oxalic acid and glycerine strips? Our basic package include all the tools and ingredients to make it work.
These packages are set up to suit with the applicator being the Beequip strip. You can learn more about these strips here.
This black plastic sheet slots perfectly on to a Technoset floor. It reduces the entrance to a small square hole right close to the cluster during winter. This stops wasps as they don't like the dark tunnel from the front entrance to the inside entrance. It also makes it easier for the bees to defend themselves.

Get yours today for unbeatable value and quality.
Manual two frame Stainless Steel Honey Extractor
304 grade stainless steel drum.
With clear plastic top covers.
Metal gear drive for long life.
It fits 3/4 depth frames and full depth frames.
The distance from honey gate to floor when the legs are fitted is 395mm.
The base of the extraction drum is convexed so the honey naturally flows to the outer edge of the drum.
110cm high with legs and about 45cm wide plus an extra 15cm for the handle
Ensure honey in the frames is warm enough. Straight off the hive is usually okay if the weather is not too cold and the bees have been brushed or blown off the frames. Otherwise, leave in a small warm room at around 28 degrees C for 48 hours.
Clean equipment before use.
Uncap frames as shown in video.
Use frames of similar weight on opposite sides to reduce vibrations.
Run extractor at about half speed to get half the honey out of the first side. If the frames have wax foundation and you go too fast, the weight of the honey on opposite side will damage the comb.
Turn frames around and spin honey from other side. Depending on honey type and temperature, one pass may be enough on second side or it may need to be done with 2 passes. 2ndpass can be faster than the first.
Shift frames back to first side and extract remaining honey with a slightly faster speed.
Let the honey flow out of the extractor through a stainless steel double strainer and into food grade honey pails with honey gates at the bottom.
Leave the honey pail in warm place for 2 days to allow any wax residues and air bubbles to go to the top.
Then you can decant beautiful pure honey out of the honey gate at the bottom into polyjars, or similar.
The wax cappings can be left to drain over a grid like a stainless steel queen excluder. (Leave in a warm place to allow maximum honey to drain from the wax.)
The drained honey can be poured through a honey strainer. (Repeat steps 9 – 11.)
