Top Feeders

This package includes everything to use the 9.5L Top feeder on your hive.

Designed to go in between your hive mat and top box for feeding the bees supplement such as sugar syrup. Being a top feeder you don't have to open up the hive making it easy to feed. The included caps reduce drowning to almost nothing when fitted.

Top Feeder for Sugar Syrup

Has a 9.5 Litre capacity

Sits in a separate wooden rim on top of the hive.

Corner caps and Chimney caps are available to reduce drowning.

Feeders come with center holes punched out.

It fits neatly inside the Technosetbee roof and takes no extra space. A lot of beekeepers around the world leave this top feeder on the beehive all year round. It doubles up as a hive mat and allows damp air to exit up through the vents and out the roof vents.

The bees have a 7mm passage under the white vent covers at each end of the feeder (as shown in the photo below) to take the syrup without drowning.

To refill the feeder, simply lift the roof and top up without any disturbance to the bees. Alternatively, a feeder valve can be fitted to the roof to avoid even lifting the roof.

Can be used on any standard 10 frame Langstroth bee hive.

The Ultra Top Feeder has a lip around the outer edge to locate over wooden boxes. It consists of two feeders. The outer feeder holds 4 litres of syrup and the inner feeder 1.1 litres. The inner feeder has only small entries to the feeder gallery to restrict the quantity of syrup taken per day. Some beekeepers use the inner feeder for feeding syrup with additives because it is easy to remove and clean. There is a 15mm recess under the inner feeder to feed small pollen patties. To feed large pollen patties, remove the inner feeder, add the pattie direct over the frames and fit the supplied lid over the pollen pattie to prevent bees getting into the syrup feeder and drowning.
The feeder has small air vents at each end. They line up with small vents in the roof. This is excellent for getting rid of moist air in the hive.
The feeder includes a top entry designed for winter conditions and where snow can block the bottom entrance. Click shut in summer.

Propolis Mat and huge 14 litre Feeder Combo with kitset rim included.

Made to slot straight on your own conventional 10 frame hive, this feeder will feed your hive for weeks. The propolis collected on the propolis mat provides a great source of extra income and also closes up any gaps around the edge of the feeder.

With central chimney cap feeding cover, as well as feeding chambers at each end of feeder. This allows the bees to drain the feeder no matter what angle the hive is on.

The feeder incorporates some large cavities to hold pollen patties to feed to bees if required.

The kitset rim is made from budget grade NZ Pine and will need to be assembled and placed over the feeder to make it suit your standard hive mat and galvanised lid.

The smaller compartment (under white cover) is for feeding dry pollen patties or fondant. It has 2.3 litres of space.

The larger area is for feeding syrup and holds up to 3.5 litres if level. The bees have a 7mm passage under the blue vent covers (as shown in the photo) to take the syrup without drowning.To refill the feeder, simply lift the roof and top up without any disturbance to the bees. Alternatively, a feeder valve can be fitted to the roof to avoid even lifting the roof when topping up the syrup.

The small compartment under the hinged lid is for feeding protein supplements or bee feed patties. The other compartment is for feeding sugar syrup and will hold 1.5 litres. The ""no drown"" design takes the stress out of feeding syrup and maximises production. Because they are incorporated in the roof, they allow for max space in the brood nest for brood rearing.
