0.75mm thick - The roof is made from galvanised sheet metal at 0.75mm thick. This is a heavy duty roof and will last the longest.

Loose Poly Liner - The roof will come with a High Density polystyrene liner that gives it the following advantages:

• reduces condensation on the hive mats
• keeps the hive warmer in the winter
• keeps the hive cooler in the summer
• allows the roofs to stack and transport much more efficiently
  

Two Hand Grips - This is the common style with a lip each end of the roof so you can comfortably remove the lid from the Hive.

Made from very high density polystyrene.

They are excellent insulation for bare galvanised beehive roofs and are fitted between the hive mat and the roof. It is not recommended to glue them to the roof because they can stick to any propolis on the hive mat in hot weather. If glue is definitely required, use Bostik MS Safe Fix adhesive.

One Hand Grip - For commercial beekeepers who put hives on pallets and butt the back of each hive up together and there is no hand grip to get in the way.

Top Quality Hive Mat assembled in NZ.

Assembled with 21mm thick wooden frame and 4.5mm smooth oil tempered hardboard. 507mm x 407mm. 15 per carton.

• The rim is made from Russian Pine. Very strong and durable.
• The rim has radiused outer edges. Nice to handle.
• Each corner has two 38mm long galvanised staples. Very secure.
• The hardboard is oil tempered and smooth both sides. Durable and doesn’t get chewed by the bees.

Rim

Treated - This is where the wooden rim has been dipped in hot micro-crystalline wax prior to assembly. This makes it far more durable and longer lasting.

Untreated - The Russian Pine treat is left in its natural state untreated. 

Feeder Hole

No hole - The hive mat remains as a normal conventional hive mat

Feeder Hole - this is where the hive mat has a hole put in a corner with a plug to suit. This allows for filling a frame feeder by just lifting the lid and taking the plug off. Usually barley disturbing the bees.

Feeding your bees has never been easier with the range of Technosetbee top feeders.

This valve allows you to quickly and efficiently fill the underlying feeder without moving the Hive cover. Simply open the cap and pour the syrup in. The syrup level is clearly visible so that you don't overfill.

Hive cover can be ordered from the factory with valve fitted.

Compatible also with conventional hive covers up to a thickness of 13mm.

Solid sturdy cover that fits on the Technosetbee hive, or any other standard hive as a roof. The twin-skinned roof is fitted with insulation between the layers to provide extra protection for the brood nest against extreme cold or hot temperatures.

The roof incorporates 2 vents at each end to allow moist air to exit and stop any condensation.

The 4 recesses on the top are to locate a Technosetbee Floor and stop it slipping off when shifting beehives from one location to another.

Also available with the optional Feeder Valve fitted. More than one valve can be fitted if required. This makes it very easy to refill the top feeders without lifting the cover.

Can be used on any standard 10 frame Langstroth bee hive.
