V-Gate option — vaporizing application made easy

The optional V-Gate Vaporizing port is a dedicated access point built into the division board rim for easier, cleaner and more consistent oxalic acid vaporizing application.

Instead of pushing a vaporizer through timber or using temporary access points, the V-Gate uses a metal-on-metal plate design to help reduce wear, maintain better nozzle alignment and make repeat treatments faster and more reliable.

  • Dedicated vaporizing port A purpose-built access point for vaporizing directly into the hive without altering the brood box.
  • Better vaporizing placement Applies vaporizing into the empty cavity above the brood nest, helping achieve excellent coverage through the brood nest.
  • Ideal with ventilated floors Vapour enters from above the colony rather than escaping out through bottom vents.
  • Metal-on-metal design Helps reduce wear from repeated vaporizer use and avoids oval timber entry points that can affect nozzle alignment.
  • Helps prevent nozzle chill Reduces the cooling effect caused by cold, wet wood, helping prevent blockages and allowing more applications before cleaning is required.
  • Front or side access Choose the V-Gate position that best suits your hive setup and treatment workflow.

Finish

Dipped — the wooden rim has been dipped in hot micro-crystalline wax prior to assembly, making it far more durable and longer lasting.

Undipped — the Russian Pine rim is left in its natural untreated state.

Entry position

Front Entry — includes a front entrance cut-out for upper-hive access.

Side Entry — includes a side entrance cut-out for upper-hive access.

V-Gate position

Front V-Gate — fitted with the V-Gate vapour port on the front of the divider board.

Side V-Gate — fitted with the V-Gate vapour port on the side of the divider board.

Choosing a layout

Choose the entry and V-Gate positions that best suit your hive setup, yard layout and treatment workflow.

For example, a front entry is ideal when the upper section should fly from the front, while a side entry can help keep entrances separated during split management.

Important option note: Front Entry cannot be selected with Front V-Gate, and Side Entry cannot be selected with Side V-Gate. Choose opposite positions if both an entry and V-Gate are required.
