This NZ-assembled hive mat is built with a 21mm thick wooden rim and durable 4mm plywood centre board. Choose the standard version, or upgrade to the new V-Gate vapour port for easier, cleaner and more consistent oxalic acid vaporization.
The V-Gate is a dedicated vaporizing access point built into the 21mm rim. Instead of pushing a vaporizer through timber or using temporary access points, the V-Gate uses a metal-on-metal plate design to help reduce wear, maintain better nozzle alignment and make repeat treatments faster and more reliable.
It is recommended to drill a 10mm hole in the lid to align with the V-Gate so that the lid does not need to be removed for vapour applications.

Rim
Treated — the wooden rim has been dipped in hot micro-crystalline wax prior to assembly, making it far more durable and longer lasting.
Untreated — the Russian Pine rim is left in its natural untreated state.
V-Gate position
V-Gate Front — fitted with the V-Gate vapour port on the front of the hive mat for front access during treatment.
V-Gate Side — fitted with the V-Gate vapour port on the side of the hive mat for side access during treatment.
