HiveKeepers Micro Honey Harvester

Product code: 750-3000

Harvest honey in minutes, without a bulky extractor.

If you keep a few hives, harvesting honey shouldn’t mean setting aside a whole weekend. The HiveKeepers Micro Honey Harvester lets you extract small batches at home, with no manual uncapping and no large extraction setup.

Designed for beekeepers with around one to five hives, this compact benchtop unit extracts honey directly from HiveKeepers cassettes. Harvest a little at a time as honey becomes ready, then return the cassettes to the hive for the bees to clean, repair and refill.

Recognised in TIME’s Best Inventions of 2026.

How it works

  1. Remove a honey-filled HiveKeepers cassette from its frame.

  2. Open it using the cassette tool and load it into the harvester as instructed.

  3. Press the button. Extraction takes approximately 30 seconds per cassette, with an automatic stop.

  4. Collect the honey, reassemble the cassette and return it to the hive.

Why choose the Micro Honey Harvester?

  • No manual uncapping. There is no need for an uncapping knife or a separate cappings tray.

  • No additional filtering normally required. The enclosed extraction system keeps wax cappings and debris out of the collected honey.

  • Compact and easy to store. A practical option when you don’t have room for a full extraction setup.

  • Harvest small batches. Take a cassette or a frame when it is ready, rather than waiting for a full extraction day.

  • Reusable cassettes. The bees clean, repair and refill the comb after harvesting.

  • Straightforward clean-up. Wash the honey-contact parts with warm soapy water and rinse, following the manufacturer’s instructions.

Frequently asked questions:

Can I use it with ordinary honey frames?

The harvester works specifically with HiveKeepers cassettes. You will need HiveKeepers frames in a compatible size for your honey supers.

Do I need to remove the wax cappings?

No manual uncapping is required. After harvesting, the cassettes are reassembled and returned to the hive with the wax cappings for the bees to clean and repair.

Does the honey need filtering?

The system is designed to collect honey without additional filtering. This does not replace the need to manage honey safety, including Tutin risk in New Zealand.

A note for New Zealand beekeepers: Tutin safety

HiveKeepers equipment does not detect or remove Tutin. If the honey is harvested between 1st Jan and 30th June in an area that could have the Tutu bush, make sure Tutin risk has been managed using an appropriate option in MPI’s guidance before eating or sharing.

MPI recommends that beekeepers harvesting solely for their own use also follow the Tutin standard. Honey supplied through sale, donation or barter must meet the applicable requirements.
