These wooden rimmed excluders are great for those doing acid treatments or just for anyone wanting a good long lasting excluder.

As acid treatments are now coming more frequent amongst beekeepers, so are the rusty galvanised queen excluders.

This stainless steel excluder won't have this problem saving hassles down the track.

The top bar is secured with four 32mm staples at the top and a 20mm staple on each end. The bottom bars have a machined groove to locate the foundation and are secured with 32mm staples.

Jumbo Depth - Your NZ Pine frame will be 286mm high, assembled and wired with brass eyelets on the end bars. Jumbo depth is usually used as an option of having just one brood super. This size is the closest arrangement you can have to the bees natural hive size in the wild.

Frame Endbar Size:

33mm - Your NZ Pine frames will be assembled and have an endbar size of 33mm. 33mm Gives you plenty of space in the brood box with 10 frames giving you more flexibility on how you place your frames and also allowing for the wax and propolis build up on the frames. This is often used in brood chambers as they get clogged up the most.

Top Quality Hive Mat assembled in NZ — now available with V-Gate.

This NZ-assembled hive mat is built with a 21mm thick wooden rim and durable 4mm plywood centre board. Choose the standard version, or upgrade to the new V-Gate vapour port for easier, cleaner and more consistent oxalic acid vaporization.

The V-Gate is a dedicated vaporizing access point built into the 21mm rim. Instead of pushing a vaporizer through timber or using temporary access points, the V-Gate uses a metal-on-metal plate design to help reduce wear, maintain better nozzle alignment and make repeat treatments faster and more reliable.

It is recommended to drill a 10mm hole in the lid to align with the V-Gate so that the lid does not need to be removed for vapour applications.

Stainless Steel Queen Excluder — Now Available with V-Gate

A wooden-rimmed stainless steel queen excluder with the option of a closable entry and the new V-Gate port.

Ideal for beekeepers wanting a durable, long-lasting excluder for acid treatment systems, two-queen setups, or simply the flexibility of a second entrance.

Product overview

The V-Gate is a dedicated vaporizing access point built into a compatible 21mm rim. It is designed to make oxalic acid vaporization application easier, cleaner and more consistent, without needing to alter the brood box itself.

Instead of pushing a vaporizer through timber, the V-Gate uses a metal-on-metal plate design to help reduce wear, maintain better nozzle alignment and reduce nozzle chilling during repeated use.

A large number of beekeepers now use Swedish Cloth strips on top of the brood frames. The 21mm rim gives the correct bee space between the strips and the excluder mesh for maximum efficacy. Beekeepers report they get minimal burr comb on the excluder mesh if they use the cloth strips during the honey flow.

The rims are assembled with 38mm stainless-steel pancake-head screws for maximum strength and longevity.

Choosing a layout

Choose the entry and V-Gate positions that best suit your hive setup, yard layout and treatment workflow.
