Assembled with a 40mm thick wooden frame and 4mm marine grade plywood. 507mm x 407mm. 15 per carton.
- The rim is made from Russian Pine. Very strong and durable.
- The rim has radiused outer edges. Nice to handle.
- Each corner is secured with two stainless steel screws through the joins.
- The plywood is marine grade and dipped on both the treated and untreated options.
The space under the plywood on the shallow side is 8mm.
The air space on the deep side is 27.5mm.
Why would you choose a 40mm rim over a 21mm rim?
The 40mm rim gives you extra space above the brood nest, making it a great option if you want room for feeding, treatments, or seasonal hive management.

Options:
Treated - The wooden rim is dipped in hot micro-crystalline wax prior to assembly. This makes it far more durable and longer lasting.
Untreated - The Russian Pine rim is left untreated, while the plywood insert is still dipped.
