6 Frame Reversible Extractor

This 6 Frame Reversible Extractor is a powerhouse of extraction with a programmable three-phase inverter motor for total control, enabled by a simple speed controller and digital readout. Its 304-grade stainless steel and clear lids are solidly constructed, and it has over 100 settings for flexible operation. An ideal choice for speedy extraction with reliable, consistent results.
A simple speed controller with a digital readout of revolutions and with forward/reverse buttons, gives you accurate control on the extraction and keeps it consistent. Read outs on the voltage, amps and hertz are also available.
The inverter motor is three phase with the the control unit converting the single phase input to three phase in order to have full control of the motor. With over 100 settings, the controller is very flexible if needed otherwise it operates as a simple straight forward extractor.
Ensure honey in the frames is warm enough. Straight off the hive is usually okay if the weather is not too cold and the bees have been brushed or blown off the frames. Otherwise, leave in a small warm room at around 28 degrees C for 48 hours.
Clean equipment before use.
Uncap frames as shown in video.
Use frames of similar weight on opposite sides to reduce vibrations.
Run extractor at about half speed to get half the honey out of the first side. If the frames have wax foundation and you go too fast, the weight of the honey on opposite side will damage the comb.
Turn frames around and spin honey from other side. Depending on honey type and temperature, one pass may be enough on second side or it may need to be done with 2 passes. 2nd pass can be faster than the first.
Shift frames back to first side and extract remaining honey with a slightly faster speed.
Let the honey flow out of the extractor through a stainless steel double strainer and into food grade honey pails with honey gates at the bottom.
Leave the honey pail in warm place for 2 days to allow any wax residues and air bubbles to go to the top.
Then you can decant beautiful pure honey out of the honey gate at the bottom into polyjars, or similar.
The wax cappings can be left to drain over a grid like a stainless steel queen excluder. (Leave in a warm place to allow maximum honey to drain from the wax.)
The drained honey can be poured through a honey strainer. (Repeat steps 9 – 11.)

There are so many amazing things to see in a SpyHive™. Here a just a few:
Watch the bees feeding on sugar syrup or Pollen Patties.
Watch the queen laying eggs and spreading pheromones
Add all different types of varroa treatments and watch the bees’ reactions.
Do regular dead mite counts on the base tray to analyse results.
Watch the temperature stay constant in the brood nest regardless of outside temperatures.
Easy to mark some nurse bees with different colours and watch them do their duties each day. Their duties change as they get older.
Adjustable ventilation system to suit the time of year or to observe how the bees react accordingly.
Watch propolis being using to seal up cracks
See the bees build and mould the beeswax
Watch nurse bees carry out many cleaning duties.
Watch the nurse bees feed the queen.
See the bees feed the queen and spread pheromones
Watch field bees do their various dances to show the bees where to get food.
Watch pollen being unloaded into the cells.
Watch worker bees chase drones out of the hive in Autumn.
A 3/4 depth frame (175mm high) is used at the bottom for the queen to lay in. The top frame is full depth (231mm high) and is used to store food for the colony. A stainless steel queen excluder is fitted between the 2 frames. Frames are not supplied with the SpyHive™ unless by special request.
High quality polycarbonate panels are used to cover the beehive frames instead of glass for many very good reasons.
It has higher thermal insulation properties and keeps the bees warmer
It is very hard to break for added safety in the home.
Easy to ship the SpyHive™ worldwide without risk of breakages.
Easy to hinge a panel for routine beehive maintenance.
Give excellent view clarity
The bees keep it very clean.
One polycarbonate panel has a hole with a black plug fitted. The plug can be removed for a large range of activities including:-
Catch a nurse bee with the Soft-face Bee Clip, mark her thorax with a Bee Marker Pen, and let her go while inserted back through the hole. Her work duties can then be monitored each day for her lifetime.
Insert a probe for a humidity meter and observe the consistency in the brood nest. (Can't be left there for long periods because the bees will cover it with propolis🙂)
Insert a probe for a CO2 meter and watch what is best for the bees.
Watch the bees put out alarm signals if you blow through the hole!
The SpyHive™ comes in several options:
Wall Mount Option: This comes with a special bracket allowing you to mount it to the wall and swivel it 180 degrees, all while maintaining the exit for the bees to carry on there duties. This registered design allows for maximum viewing without taking up prime bench space. The bracket is designed so that you can easily shut the entrance and then remove the SpyHive™ from the bracket temporarily to go and display elsewhere. This is our most popular option and also the most secure.
Bench Mount Option: This is designed to sit on a bench as stationery and use flexi-hose to connect it to the outside. It comes with a pair of feet to give stability. These are packed separately and easily secured with one screw each.
ACM Hive Cover Panels:
These sturdy panels have a rubber seal and are held in place with a magnet. The rubber seals help to keep the beehive warm and the panels keep the beehive in darkness, just like their natural habitat. The inside surface of the covers is ideal for keeping diary notes with a whiteboard marker pen. Notes could include:-
Varroa treatments
The queen behaviour and age etc.
Feeding
If excess bees are removed or more bees are added
Bee health treatments or supplements that are used.

InstantVap TURBO 18 volt

The all-new InstantVap® 18V TURBO has arrived — faster, smarter and more powerful than ever!
Building on the success of the Compact, the TURBO makes vaporizing oxalic acid (OA) in beehives even more efficient, with a high-power furnace, dynamic temperature control, and a smart LED interface for large-scale, reliable treatment.
NEW Turbo Design: This model delivers quicker cycles (around 13 seconds per 2g dose) and precision control. With an easy-to-read LED display showing temperature, battery voltage, cycle counters and status lights, the Turbo is purpose-built for professional beekeepers needing speed in the field.
NEW LED display & counters This includes live temperature and battery voltage, total cycles, cycles per battery, plus smart status light codes noted below: - Slow blink = warming up, Solid = ready, Fast blink = vaporizing, Double blink + pause = low battery.
The Turbo combines strength and practicality — stainless-steel, acid-resistant frame, replaceable 6mm brass nozzle, double-wall furnace for cold/windy weather, and built-in over-discharge battery protection.
It is extremely cost-effective per application! Oxalic Acid costs less than 2 cents per hive for a 2 gram dose (based on bulk pricing). Treat thousands of hives for just a few dollars in materials.
The Vaporizer bowl temperature is very important to maximize the output of the Oxalic Acid without degrading it. Extensive lab testing shows that keeping the bowl temperature between 230 and 260 degrees Celsius is best:
Applications & suggested dose rates.
1. For beehives with solid bases, apply 2g of OA vapour at the bottom entry. Block the entry with a wet towel for 5–7 minutes.
2. For vented bases, use a vent blocker sheet, then follow the same process.
3. For hives with difficult-to-seal vented bases, apply 3g from the top via hive mat notch or excluder door/notch. See our stainless steel excluders with entry.
4. If the hive has a top feeder with a wooden rim, many beekeepers are applying the vapour through the rim directly below the feeder tray and into the bee space. Drill a 6.5mm hole in the rim on a slight downward angle to direct the vapour below the feeder tray. Plug with a golf tee or similar between treatments.
5. Through-the-wall dosing: drill a 6.5mm hole in the brood box and insert the brass nozzle. Plug with a golf tee or similar between treatments. It is best to locate the hole as high as possible at the side of the front plate so the vapour is directed alongside the outer frame. This method is the least most desirable of the 5 options.
NB. There should be 80mm to 100mm of free air space in front of the nozzle during discharge. Otherwise, 10% - 20% of the oxalic acid will solidify on a surface that is right in front and too close.
Included with each Turbo: 1 × InstantVap Turbo Vaporizer (choose your battery socket) 1 × Oxalic Acid Dispenser 1 × Cleaning Cap 2 × Spare O-Rings Batteries not included
The finer details:
Dynamic adjustable temperature: 230–260 °C (optimum 260 °C)

Roll-on dosing dispenser, 1–4g scale, one-press release (extras available here)
6mm brass outlet pipe, easy to clean, designed to resist clogging
